Andy Pham Sponsorship

Andy Pham

My name is Andy Pham and I’m from Naperville, Illinois. I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Political Science. I’m currently the External Vice-President for UVSA-Midwest, but I was the 14th Annual VIA-1 Co-Executive Director and former Wisconsin State Representative. I’ve been a part of VSA for these past 4 years, and I couldn’t be anymore thankful for what it gave me: values, leadership experience, and most importantly, a gia đình– a family. VSA gave me a sense of belonging and VIA-1 gave me that as well. I feel like I can never stop giving back to a community that gave me so much and that’s why I’m still here. My hobbies include traveling and cooking!

Name/Year/ Position. Is this your first-time being a VIA-1 director and/or attending the conference?

Andy Pham, Graduate, Co-Sponsorship Director. This would be my 3rd year being a VIA-1 director: The Ohio State University: Family Programming Director & The University of Wisconsin – Madison: Co-Executive Director.

Why did you choose to take part in the planning process? Why this committee versus the other committees?

The people keep bringing me back, and I want to continue to help the community regardless of where I am in life. VSA has provided me the tools for the success, and the people are supportive on all notes.

Sponsorship is very crucial to the VIA-1 conference to help fund it. The External Vice-President role is supposed to build connections with businesses and other organizations and that ties into Sponsorship director itself.

Who inspires you the most?

Tyson Banh keeps pushing me to be involved, and when I’m at my lowest point, he brings me out and pulls me out of the rut. I keep following his footsteps and learn from his strong leadership abilities.

Most memorable experience or favorite memory of VIA-1 so far?

My favorite memory is when I was one of the Co-Executive Directors where I saw all the directors hard at work. We really couldn’t have executed a great conference without them, and when we needed help they were always there.

(Past) ED Question: Who is the better half?

I would say Kim Chung since we were partners last year as Co-Executives. We still reflect back to this day, and she was continuously supportive. We would call each out and our synergy really exemplified during conference.

Director Question: Which committee director would you marry, impeach, and collaborate with and why?

Marry – Family Programming. I love Sean Vo.

Impeach – Family Programming. It’s a love-hate relationship between Sean and I.

Collaborate – Finance. We basically go hand-in-hand.
